Inquiry using Virtual Reality

Inquiry is to carry out a purposeful research, to test existing understanding, discover new information and create new understanding. Through inquiry, learners critically evaluate a variety of sources, make connections and synthesize findings to apply knowledge to real-life contexts.

During this lesson, Grade 4 as part of their Unit of Inquiry "The effective interaction between human body systems contribute to health and survival" explore how the systems work together by identifying the exact location of organs, systems and muscles; they also discussed and make assumptions about why we need each part of the body. Then they have prepared 3D models stating the function of the various organs of that system, how is it related to other systems and what impact will it have on the body in its absence.

In this Unit students of Kindergarten have explored about Building Construction. In ICT, students have created their different types of house using base structure, roof, doors, windows etc to create a building structure.

Hour of code is something which I believe every ICT teacher knows. It has made our job very easy to teach CODING to students. I would like to share one hour of code sites I generally use: Code.org

What is HOUR OF CODE?

Hour of code is an initiative taken by Code.org. It contains set of 60 minutes self led tutorials which is hosted by many coding websites.So yes we can say 'Coding under one roof'.Students have completed HOUR OF CODE and got a certificate during their CODING class.

Students have learned Coding and App designing and created different types of online apps using MIT APP INVENTOR.

Students have taught Scratch Programming and App Designing to their parents during ABLE STEM Exhibition.

A small T3 session conducted by me on how to create a website during INSET Days.

Grade 5 Students have created online Maths Quiz and Tarsia Puzzles. I have observed a lot of learning happening and also some very enthusiastic learners. They really enjoyed this session.

Students have discussed and written a script for creating advertisement using Print and Online Media. It was a really challenging task for them and they have shown full zeal and enthusiasm to achieve their goal.

Grade 3 Students learning to organise their work using Google Drive.They have learned how to create and share a Google Doc.

The Second graders have learned the letters on their keyboards. We looked at a keyboard and reviewed where we can find our numbers and letters on the keyboard and how to make a capital letter. Then, the students went on Google Docs and they used the keyboard to write about their favourite festivals to practice their typing skills.

Grade 5 has explored the features of Photobooth app.They have finished the project of movie making today. They have made behind the scenes movie on IMovie. I have seen lots of enthusiasm and interest in students while working on this.

Introducing word problems with ICT is so much fun with these simple games.You can use ABCYA word problems for addition, subtraction and comparison.Through Game based learning Grade 1 has learned about fractions.
